More information

Information about each thermal property can be found below.

Thermal diffusivity (mm2/s)

  • Each data point shown in the plot is an average of (minimum of) three (3) measurements
  • Instrument: NETZSCH LFA 467 HT HyperFlash®
  • Purge gas: Argon
  • Protective gas: Argon
  • Sample thickness: 2.47 – 2.85 mm
  • Sample diameter: 9.99 – 10 mm

Specific Heat Capacity (J/g-K)

  • Each data point shown in the plot is an average of (minimum of) four (4) measurements
  • Instrument: NETZSCH STA 449 F3 Jupiter®
  • Purge gas: Argon
  • Protective gas: Argon
  • Sample mass: 133 – 226 mg

Thermal Conductivity (W/m-K)

  • Thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, specific heat and density are related through, k=\alpha { c }_{ p }\rho. Therefore, best estimation of the thermal conductivity is calculated based on that relation.
  • Density of Hastelloy N is assumed to be constant at 8.86 g/cm3 ¹
